Uses He/Him pronouns
Aaron Slinker, LMHCA (MC61163870), is a Primary Therapist at Opal and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate in the State of Washington. He was drawn to Opal because of their intention of bringing movement into individuals’ treatments. As someone who has been involved in sports and lifting himself, he is aware of the common yet harmful beliefs that are associated with movement. He wants to help clients identify and challenge thoughts about movements stemming from upbringing and societal expectations.
Aaron received his Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in eating disorders in his home state of Wisconsin. He uses a combination of curiosity, compassion, and humor to help guide clients in their therapeutic journey. Aaron believes when we can move towards discomfort in a non-judgmental way, we can allow space for healing. Aaron also believes that therapy is a collaborative process and wants to come alongside you in this chapter of your life.
As a white-passing, able-bodied cis male, Aaron continues to educate himself and learn from the experiences of others to better understand his privilege and how to advocate for others. On his free time Aaron enjoys reading, being outside, and playing with his two golden doodles. Aaron is interested in multiple different modalities and based on your needs draws from, FS, RO-DBT, and ACT.
