Aleta is a Registered Dietitian (CDR# 86167550), a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington (#LH60855669), and a Certified Body Trust® Provider. She completed a Master’s of Science in Nutrition, Dietetics, and Clinical Health Psychology at Bastyr University in 2016. Aleta’s past roles over the last 4 years at Opal include milieu therapist, milieu lead, primary therapist and exercise experiential therapist for PHP, IOP and OP clients. Currently, she is developing and running the Virtual IOP program in response to Covid-19, which has been an exciting way to incorporate the variety of experience she has had at Opal. 

Aleta is fiercely passionate about practicing and promoting anti-diet and weight-inclusive care that is rooted in social justice and anti-oppression work. Outside of Opal, Aleta is usually adventuring or relaxing with her partner and her dog (Rhubarb), and often spends weekends skiing or backpacking in the mountains. She is a 7 on the Enneagram.

Aleta has professional interest and advanced training in: Attuned/ Intuitive Eating, Bipoc issues/ mental health care, culinary skills, diet recovery, chronic dieting, Health at Every Size, sport and exercise/ athletes, systems of oppression.
