Amy is a Licensed Social Worker Associate-Independent Clinical (LSWAIC) in Washington State (#SC60994273) with a Master of Social Work from The University of Chicago. During the academic year, Amy is a School Counselor at an independent middle and high school, where she loves being in community with young people, families, and other educators to work together to create a better world. Throughout her career as a Social Worker, therapist, and school-based provider, Amy treasures the opportunity to partner with others as they connect with the aspects of life that provide meaning, joy, and safety.
As a high school cross country coach, Amy prioritizes creating a supportive team atmosphere that centers wellbeing and community. It was through connections in the coaching world that Amy became familiar with Opal, and in particular the Exercise+Sport program. In both youth sports and therapeutic work, Amy is passionate about helping people grow in their relationship to their bodies and movement.
Outside of her time at Opal, you can find Amy soaking up all her favorite things about life in the Pacific Northwest: exploring urban and forested trails, savoring delicious recipes and flavors, and spending lots of time with her young son and family.
Amy has professional interest and advanced training in sport and exercise/athletes, student health, DBT, motivational interviewing, and ACT.
