Brooke is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington (#MC60826793). Brooke grew up in rural Indiana and received her BA in Psychology from a working farm college near Asheville, NC. After working for several years as a youth mentor, AmeriCorps volunteer, bookbinding apprentice, letterpress printer, art director, and caregiver for elders, she returned to school and received her MA in Counseling Psychology from Bastyr University. Outside of Opal, Brooke has a private therapy practice where she works with teens and adults to find their own strength in navigating life’s challenges, and she works part-time as a letterpress printer in a small but mighty stationery business. She is particularly passionate about supporting women and girls in harnessing their inner power and living their fullest lives. If she is not working, Brooke spends time with friends, takes lots of walks, writes letters, and tries not to take life TOO seriously.
Brooke has professional interest and advanced training in: DBT, depression/ anxiety, grief and loss, Health at Every Size, LGBTQ issues/ gender affirming, sex therapy/ sex positive, systems of oppression, trauma, women’s health, ACT, adolescent mental health, biopsychosocial approach to mental health treatment.
