Carly (she/they) is an Agency Affiliated Counselor(CG61192635) in the state of Washington. She comes to Opal with a B.A. in Psychology and is hoping to go on to get a Masters in Social Work. Carly has extensive experience working with the autism community and feels passionate about exploring the intersections of eating disorders and neurodiversity.

Carly’s work at Opal is fueled by her own recovery journey. After spending time in higher levels of care for her own eating disorder, she felt connected to Opal’s Health at Every Size and RO-DBT approach. She believes that each person may have a part of themselves that wants to recover and a part of themselves that may be resistant to the process, but by getting in touch with their values and connecting with a community, small and large steps towards recovery are possible.

Carly also connects with the social justice mission of Opal and seeks to understand and advocate for marginalized groups in her work.
Outside of Opal, Carly loves to incorporate movement into her life through hiking and running. She’s an avid reader, podcast listener and consumer of anti-diet culture media.
