Uses She/Her pronouns

Cynthia is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Licensed Dietitian in the State of Washington (DI61298436). She attended Seattle Pacific University for both her undergraduate and dietetic internship education. Cynthia worked in the clinical nutrition/hospital-setting before beginning her work in ED treatment. Cynthia is passionate about helping individuals explore and heal their relationship with food.

Originally from South-Central California, her interest in nutrition began as a desire to learn how to help communities like the one she grew up in, access sound nutrition advice and information. It was during her first years of undergraduate education when she began to learn more about Health At Every Size as an approach for reducing weight stigma in healthcare and providing inclusive care for individuals with eating disorders. Through her owned lived experience as a queer woman of color, Cynthia has come to understand and acknowledge the systemic barriers that can prevent individuals from being able to access mental health resources, and the importance of making ED treatment more accessible for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ individuals. She enjoys getting to know her clients and learning about how their unique identities have shaped their understanding of themselves and the world around them.

Outside of work, Cynthia enjoys hiking, foraging, and visiting independent book shops and record stores in Seattle.
