Health at Every Size® Training

January 7, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Opal: Food+Body Wisdom Lecture Series

Health at Every Size® Training

with Julie Church, RDN, CEDRD, CD

Choose from a full or half day

9:00am – 12:00pm  Overview of Clinical Application of Health at Every Size
1:00pm – 3:00pm   YOUR Health at Every Size Case Studies  (submit your case study for discussion)
Julie Church, RDN, CEDRD will provide a morning introduction to Health at Every Size (HAES).  HAES Principles, related research, and clinical application will be included. The afternoon will offer several in-depth case studies that will give clinicians from various disciplines the opportunity to think critically and creatively about application of Health at Every Size.
You can choose to come all day or just choose to attend one portion of the day. If you attend the afternoon case studies we ask that you either attend the morning session or are already well-versed in the HAES paradigm to health and weight.  We invite you to submit a clinically challenging case that you, together with Opal staff, could use for case study discussion.  4 will be approved.
This training will provide CEUs for both dietitians and therapists.  The content will be relevant for anyone in a helping profession– medicine, education, mental health, nutrition, etc.  HAES is a paradigm that all can apply since it is not just about medical care but rather is a paradigm that emphasizes equality for all, regardless of size.

CEUs will be available for therapists + dietitians

This is a free event. Coffee, tea, and snacks will be served.

Plan to bring your own lunch or choose from the many restaurant options nearby.
