Kayla (she/her) joins Opal eager to continue supporting individuals recovering from eating disorders. Rooted in her lived experience with an eating disorder, Kayla holds immense compassion and hope for those in recovery. Kayla is a Registered Agency Affiliated Counselor (# CG61316657)

In addition to personal experiences, Kayla’s therapeutic work is informed by past professional experience working in a residential level of care in Boston, MA. Kayla holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington (Go Dawgs!) in Psychology and is currently a graduate student pursuing her M.S.W. in Clinical Social Work.  

Kayla’s specific interests lie in advocating for equal access to treatment, the intersection of disordered eating and sport + movement, and co-occurring OCD, trauma, and neurodevelopmental disorders. 

Kayla lives in Kenmore, WA with her husband and German Shepard pup, Oakley. Outside of Opal you can find Kayla on weekend camping trips, playing with Oakley, exploring new bookstores, or searching for the best tacos around!
