Kathy Johns, LMHCA
Kathy is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (#MC60857837) in the State of Washington. Kathy received her Masters in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School after years in the corporate sector. With an undergraduate degree in International Political Economy from the University of Puget Sound, she grew up locally but spent many years in the Southeast before returning to the Northwest to practice therapy. She practices from a psychodynamic, relational, interpersonal therapeutic approach, with interests in the areas of trauma and its impact on the mind, body, and relationships. Her work considers larger societal and systemic issues and how they shape the individual. With Opal’s relational, HAES-oriented approach to treatment, Kathy has been able to utilize her training to accompany patients in their healing process. Outside of her therapeutic work, Kathy enjoys being outside in any form, but her favorite activity is running or hiking with her dog, Toby.
