Allison has a pending Agency Affiliate Counselor Registration (CU61534398) in the State of Washington. Allison also has a pending Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate(LH61523968) in Washington State.
Allison has a Master’s Degree in Sport and Performance Psychology (M.A.) from Minnesota State University, Mankato, as well as a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling (M.Ed.) from Springfield College. She has previous experience working in an eating disorder partial hospitalization program on the East Coast, but was drawn to Opal because of its focus on client-centered care, and the utilization of RO-DBT, a therapy that she has incorporated into her work with clients both in an eating disorder setting and beyond. Allison’s therapeutic style involves compassionately challenging eating disorder views with clients. She appreciates Opal’s incorporation of movement into treatment for both athletes and non-athletes. With an understanding of the unique challenges that athletes face in relation to food, body and performance as a result of her training in sport psychology as well as her background as a collegiate athlete. Allison is continuing to navigate how her relationship with exercise and sport has evolved and how her identity as an athlete has shifted too. She connects strongly with Opal’s vision to inspire cultural change regarding food, body, movement and mental health.
When not working, Allison enjoys cooking and/or baking, currently perfecting her sourdough bread, as well as exploring new trails via running or walking/hiking. Allison has advanced interest and training in RO-DBT, ACT.
