On June 2nd, in support of World Eating Disorder Action Day, Balance ED Treatment published “Redefining Wellness” an ebook for teenagers. The book is a response to the Weight Watchers’ campaign targeting teenagers and encouraging them to diet and lose weight. This ebook is a collection of contributions from HAES and non-diet professionals aimed to redefine wellness and encourage teens to explore health beyond diet culture. This information is also important for parents and anyone who has struggled with food and body issues.

Joyful Movement

“Redefining Wellness is about reclaiming the idea that health and weight are not necessarily dependent upon one another. Dieting behavior often increases the risk of developing poor body image, lower self-esteem, and disordered eating behaviors. The hope is that the guide promotes teens to identify, challenge and reject diet culture, decreasing their risk of developing an eating disorder.”
